HIL Technical Lead/ Test Architect – Individual Contributor

Sweden / Gothenburg

Role summary:

As an HIL Technical Lead/Test Architect, you will be responsible for leading the test specification, development, and execution of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing for projects related to Powertrain, Body, Chassis, and ADAS. This role involves cross-functional management of HIL facilities, specification of HIL tests, automation, and collaboration with various teams to ensure the delivery of complete systems.


Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the System Design Team, Functional Safety team, and Diagnostics team.
  • Collaborate with control system design and software design teams.
  • Support functional safety development and analysis.
  • Lead a small team as part of an integrated multifunctional product team.
  • Develop skills within the team through team working and personal development reviews.
  • Role based in Gothenburg with occasional travel to other sites and suppliers.



  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant automotive system integration and testing experience.
  • Experience in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
  • Preferred tool experience using dSPACE, Vector, NI, HIL, and Labcar.
  • Test specification and test automation experience, preferably using dSPACE technology.
  • Knowledge of ISO26262, DFMEA, and DVP.
  • Working knowledge of Matlab/Simulink, CAN analysis tools, and calibration tools.
  • Experience with Model Based System Engineering is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams and overcome cultural barriers.
  • Driver’s license
  • As the role is in Sweden, Gothenburg, you must live in Sweden and have a work permit already.
  • Professional English in speaking and writing.



  • Familiarity with CAN, LIN, Ethernet, Git, Jenkins, Python, and Robot framework.
  • Fluent in Swedish in both speaking and writing.
  • Live in Gothenburg
