HIL Test Automation Engineer – Test execution (automated and manual) using Hardware-in-the-loop test environment. Testing Component (Sensors & ECUs) and System Level.

Role summary:

As an HIL Test Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of validation documentation, software, SIL models, HIL models, test scripts, and components. Your role involves performing System Integration testing primarily focused on Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing of the complete system. You will work on full vehicle HIL test setups covering complex domains like HV Signal level/Power level HILs, ADAS L2+ Rigs, BMS & EDU Rig, Chassis & Kinetics domain HILs. This position is crucial for the Verification and Validation of Full vehicle systems integration within the Electrical and Electronics Integration CoE, contributing to design, development, releasing, integration, and delivery of cutting-edge systems.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for validation on full vehicle HIL test setup.
  • Plant model development for end-to-end test automation
  • Perform System Integration testing focused on HIL testing of the complete system.
  • Design, document, and execute manual test cases for Autonomous systems.
  • Interact with various software packages for testing.
  • Develop Plant Models for Propulsion systems and IO Models for HIL.
  • Integrate IO & Plant Models and maintain Model architecture roll-out for different Systems.
  • Cascade test specifications from system to components and deliver test plans and designs.
  • Document detailed test plans, test design, analysis, computer modeling, prototype/production test scripts, and specification releases.
  • Conduct software integration tests on the HIL system.
  • Develop validation product/system practices and procedures.
  • Implement test execution (automated and manual) using the HIL test environment.
  • Collaborate with the HIL Test Automation team to enable HIL Test automation.
  • Work closely with the System Test team to ensure high-quality testing.
  • Collaborate with the Test Coordination team to ensure test plan and strategy execution.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7+ years’ experience of relevant automotive systems.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining MIL, HIL, system verification test cases, and test infrastructure.
  • Expert knowledge in test automation and scripting languages (MATLAB, Python, Jenkins, ECU-Test, AutomationDesk, etc.).
  • Proficient in Agile, Software development V Cycle, CI/CD, Jenkins, BDD, TDD, Data Warehousing, API Testing, Salesforce, Tableau.
  • Expertise in MATLAB Simulink, Simscape, Stateflow, M scripting.
  • Good understanding of system/software testing and methodologies.
  • Good understanding of vehicle network communication technologies.
  • Experience in requirement-based testing, design verification, and validation.
  • High level of proactivity and independence.
  • Experience with Vector tools (CANalyser, CANoe).
  • Experience with National Instruments, dSpace, or Carmaker IPG.
  • Experience in scripting languages (C, C++, C#, or Python).
  • ISTQB foundation level training and certification.
  • Experience in Agile working methodology.
  • As the role is in Sweden, Gothenburg, you must live in Sweden and have a work permit already.
  • Professional English in speaking and writing.
